The finishing line is in sight

Three years of planning and more than two years of renovation; and finally the finish line is within sight. The summer of 2022 has `proved incredibly hard work (hence no blog update for many months) but with the help of friends, family and several different groups of Workaway volunteers we have made enormous progress. We have a fully functioning heated 15 metre swimming pool, five beautiful guest suites, a working kitchen, dining and sitting room. What´s left you may ask? A lot of finishing touches and the inevitable snagging list! The list is vast but each and every day we tick off a few more things.

The TV cameras have been following our journey and we expect to hear very soon when our programme will be aired. We promise to let you all know when we have a time and date.

One thing is for sure WE LOVE IT HERE and we are really confident that you will too. El Cipreret and the natural park surrounding the farmhouse is more beautiful and tranquil than our wildest dreams. We still have to pinch ourselves everyday that we were lucky enough to have found El Cipreret and had the opportunity to restore her. 

The restoration of El Cipreret has turned out much better than we could have imagined but there are some things that have really taken us by surprise. It was very hard to imagine how the pool would look when it was just a rough area of stony ground but it is spectacular! We have really enjoyed swimming whilst looking at the beautiful surrounding scenery. The courtyard was a strange area of rough grass, then the builder´s dumping ground but has now emerged as a beautiful tranquil space. All our guest rooms open directly into it and it is big enough to host private celebrations.

We´ve had the opportunity to test our solar electricity, eco hot water systems and our facilities with the help of friends and family this summer. Now it is time to turn our attention to preparing for guests and to start running Mariola Secreta. We´ve been working on setting out our Long Weekend Retreats, Events and other ways in which we can share everything that El Cipreret has to offer.
